Tsunami
Floods
Tornadoes, etc.
Research & Hazard Mapping
NCR is highly prone to multiple
hazards like earthquakes, floods, fire
accidents as well as building collapse
and epidemics. It lies in the seismic IV
zone and is surrounded by river
Yamuna and its tributary River
Hindon, which lurk at the 204.63 m
mark.
This is a hazard map of Haryana and it
covers most of NCR, majorly Haryana
and Delhi.
Disaster Preparedness Plan:
Pre-disaster Phase

Vulnerability Assessment xi. Mock Drill

Management Plan Shelters/ Mounds
iii. Setting of Control Room xi. Alternative Communication and
Road Net Works

Mitigation strategies
Identification of flood areas, which are likely to cut off people from
essential commodities, making appropriate arrangements to ensure
the supply of food grains and other necessities until the floods
recede.
Preparation of contour maps: The danger levels should be marked
on the contour plans and the areas likely to be submerged.
Inspect & strengthen where necessary, Inspect all drains, link
drains through the responsible officer and remove congestion.
Construction of new drains and roads.
The staff should be properly trained to fight the fury of
Earthquakes
Mock drills should also take place
