• Going to layaknya seperti will, yang biasa digunakan untuk mengungkapkan


kejadian yang akan dilakukan di masa mendatang (future). Perbedaannya
dengan will, diantaranya;
• 1. Going to untuk mengungkapkan rencana. Kita menggunakan going to ketika
memiliki rencana atau menetapkan keputusan terlebih dahulu sebelum
berbicara.
• Ex; a. We are not going to paint the deck tomorrow morning.

• Going to and will are both used to discuss future events. We use going
to to describe future events that we have planned or arranged. We can
use will to describe future events that are uncertain.
• Compare;

• Where will you be in five months?
• I don’t know. Maybe I’ll be at home or maybe I will be at sea.
• Will is used before verbs in the infinitive form.

• Sometimes we use the short form:
