Course objective
To manage a computerized workstation while also exploring
the uses of Internet, email and other web-based tools. A
significant component of this course is dedicated to the
development of skills using various functions available on
electronic spreadsheets. Students will be introduced to using
the federal and provincial website databases for finding
payroll deduction tables and income tax filing reports.
Calculations involving GST, QST, and interest on loan
payments along with taxation software will be introduced.

Note:
• The summative assessment tests the competencies covered in the course. The
student must pass the summative assessment component with a 60% minimum
grade in order to pass the course.
• A minimum total of 60 marks must be achieved to successfully complete this
course.
