serves as a concise and comprehensive summary of your entire work.
It should encapsulate the scope, objectives, findings, and contents of
your thesis or dissertation. It is not a critique or excerpt from your

Page Format (Heading 3)
L A
We have provided you with a template that provides proper page
formatting for you, but it’s still important for you to know how to
properly format your paper because sometimes your document does
P
not respond properly to the template.
EM
Except for the title, Copyright/Creative Commons, and Electronic
Approval pages, each page of the document must be assigned a
T
number. The font and size of the pagination must match the text font
and size in the document.
3.For front matter pages use small Roman numerals (iv, v, vi, etc.)
that are centered on the bottom of the page. Front matter page
numbers will start with the dedication page, which will be numbered
iv.
4.For the remainder of the document use Arabic numbers (1,2,3,
etc.) that appear in the top right-hand corner. The beginning of the
main text of the document will start with number 1.¶

T
Break (Next Page)” on the page before in order for 2 inch space to
appear correctly)

the first letter of each word is capitalized, except for certain small

P L
Figure 1.1 Points Scored by Each Team
Figures differ from pictures in that figures should be an informative
M
illustration that helps clarify certain aspects of your document. If you
are referring to numbers or results of an experiment, the figure should
E
back those claims up. Figures are not a replacement for written text,
they should merely be a visual that helps emphasize the argument you
T
are making.
CHAPTER TWO: CHAPTER TITLE
Here is an example of including an image within your text. Images
should be centered on the page, accompanied by a centered and
bolded caption. Within this text, you can discuss the significance of
the image in relation to your work. For instance, in Picture 1, this
might depict you following the completion and submission of your
thesis or dissertation. Ensure that the label and caption of the image
correspond accurately with the LIST OF FIGURES. ¶
L
CHAPTER THREE: CHAPTER TITLE (Heading 1)
Table Formatting (Heading 2)
P
Tables should be left-aligned. Each table must include a clear and
concise header that informs the reader about its content and how to
M
interpret it. Table cell content can be single-spaced for better
readability and clarity, rather than double-spaced.
E
Every table should have a caption placed above it. The caption must
be aligned left, bolded, and should match exactly with the captions
T
listed in the List of Tables. The numbering of table captions can vary,
either chronologically or based on the chapter and subsequent table
number within that chapter. For instance, the second table in the third
chapter of a thesis/dissertation could be labeled as "Table 3.2 Example
Table Caption."
Table Captions (Heading 3)
The table caption should be aligned left and bolded, placed above the
table to which it refers. The table caption must be left-aligned, bolded,
and positioned above the table it describes.
E
should always appear on the same page as the table itself.
As shown in Table 1.1 below, this provides a basic illustration of a
T
typical table format. Some tables can be more intricate and extensive,
such as our example table, Table A.1, located several pages later. For
A
larger tables, it is recommended to use a landscape orientation for
better presentation.

Appendix Formatting (Heading 2)
In the Appendices section, ensure that Heading 2s have distinct names
to avoid inclusion in the Table of Contents.¶
Each appendix should provide additional information that enhances
reader understanding but isn't critical to the main paper. Start with a
title page that states "APPENDIX" followed by the corresponding
letter indicating the appendix number. Below this Heading 1 title, use a
single, clear Heading 2 to specify the content included in the appendix.
E
format distinct from the rest of the document. Each table in the
T
appendices must be labeled with the corresponding appendix indicator
and the sequential table number within that appendix. For instance,
A
the third table in Appendix B would be identified as "Table B.3 Here Is
the Example Table Caption." This numbering convention is crucial for
L
readers to easily locate tables in the List of Tables and when referenced
within the document itself.
