Introduction
 Electrical power has become indispensable to human
survival and progress.
 Traditional meter reading by human operator is inefficient
to meet the future residential development needs.
 So there is increased demand for Automatic Meter Reading
(AMR) systems which collects meter readings electronically,
and its application is expanding over industrial, commercial
and utility environment.
How it Works ?
 The WeMos D1 microcontroller acts as a heart of
the System.
 The signal received by Microcontroller from
mobile then operate the relay for power the home
appliance.
 There are a current sensor which monitor the
current passing through it and sent the current
reading to microcontroller.
 Microcontroller calculate the power consumption
and cost and displaying it to LCD, sent it to
Blynk using internet.
Principle
 This Project is based on ACS712 current sensor
and Wemos D1 R1 (ESP8266) microcontroller
 The load can be operate using internet
Connection.
 Beside this Bill information sent to user via
internet.

Working Process
 Microcontroller Connected to load using Relay.
 When Load operation is sent by blynk application
then Microcontroller operate load and measure passing
current.
Required Equipment:

Microcontroller WeMos D1 R1
4 Ch Relay Board
ASC712 Current Sensor
LCD Display
LCD Display Driver
Buck Converter
Transformer
WeMos D1 R1 Microcontroller Board

WeMos D1 R1 microcontroller development

board is based on the ESP8266, which is built
by Espressif. At its core is a microcontroller
that runs at a blazing 80 MHz
It allows for Wi-Fi communication. This
board is a standalone microcontroller
development board that can be easily
programmed using the Arduino IDE.
Technical Specs:
Supply Voltage (Vin): 5 V
Logic Voltage: 3.3V
Wi-Fi, UART, I2C, SPI
Digital I/Os: 9
Analog Inputs: 1
Current Sensor
The ACS712 current sensor provides economical and
precise solutions for AC or DC current sensing in
home, industrial, commercial, and communications
systems.
Transformer
A Transformer is a static
electrical machine which transfers
AC electrical power from one
circuit to the other circuit at the
constant frequency, but the voltage
level can be altered that means
voltage can be increased or
decreased according to the
requirement
Rectification Circuit
A rectifier is a circuit which
converts AC to DC and this
conversion process is called as
rectification. In simple words,
a rectifier converts the bi-
directional flow of current to a
unidirectional flow, which
maintains a constant polarity
across the load.
LCD Display
A liquid-crystal display (LCD) is a flat-panel display that uses
the light-modulating properties of liquid crystals combined with
polarizers. Liquid crystals do not emit light directly, instead using
a backlight or reflector to produce images in color or monochrome.
Relay
A relay is defined as an electrically
operated switch; main use of relay is
controlling circuits by a low-power signal
or when several circuits must be
controlled by one signal.
Buck Converter
A buck converter (step-
down converter) is a DC-
to-DC power converter,
which steps down voltage
from its input to its
output.

Application
◦ Home Appliance.
◦ Industry appliance.
◦ Commercial office appliance.
◦ Corporate office.
◦ Educational institute.
◦ Hospital.
Advantage
◦ Easy to install
◦ Fully automated
◦ No maintenance cost
◦ No need to press Manual Switch
◦ Ensure Human Safety
◦ Reduce Manpower to collect Meter Reading
◦ Load Control From anywhere.
Limitation
It can only where the internet is available.
This project can control up to four
devices, but cannot control more than
that.
Microcontroller need to program
differently if it need to use more appliance
Conclusion
In this work, an attempt has been done to design
and construct a IOT based load control and
energy monitoring system using WeMos D1 R1.
It will help to save time. The program we
embedded in the microcontroller works as we
predicted. According to the study and analysis
of various parts of the system, this design has
been carried out. The results obtained from the
measurement shows that the system performs
well under all the conditions.
