INTRODUCTION

 Rural development is the

process of improving the
quality of life and economic
well-being of people living in
rural areas, often relatively
isolated and sparsely
populated areas. Rural
development has traditionally
centered on the exploitation of
land-intensive natural
resources such as agriculture
and forestry. However, changes
in global production networks
and increased urbanization
have changed..
What is Urban Planning?

• Urban Planning Is organising lands

in scientific, aesthetic and orderly
manner. It aims to create good
physical, economic and social
conditions. It also promotes the
health and well being of
communities.
• Urban Planners are geographers
the people that make sure this
happens
Main Factors

 Three factors have main role in urban planning:

1. 1.Rising literacy level.
2. Infrastructural activities
3. New employment opportunities
Rural Developments
Planners

 It seeks to promote enhanced

community participation, to
prepare rural areas for
technological, demographic
and environmental change,
and to address the diversity of
challenges and opportunities
facing rural areas, informed by
analysis, data, and
consultation. The full list of
policy measures to be
delivered is outlined at the link
below.
Things that influence
land use
 At higher spatial levels, pivotal biophysical
influences on land-use and land-cover change
include regional climate, landform, geology, soils,
hydrology, vegetation, and fauna.
 Land-cover change can have profound impacts on
the Earth system. Unsustainable land use, driven
by urban and agricultural expansion, not only
causes important impacts on climate but also leads
to ecosystem and environmental degradation. Here,
we bring together a collection of articles published
in Nature Portfolio journals on the trends and
impacts of land-use change.
Things that influence
land use
• Historical Land Use
• Without great political pressure
historic land
uses often win. Its hard to force
existing land
users out of a neighbourhood.
• Consumer Demand and Land
Value
• There is competition for the most
desirable land
in cities
• Therefore those who can pay most
get the land
they want.
The Planning Process

• Challenges
• Must make decisions for the good
of the community
over the individual.
• Reduce conflicting land uses
• Finding a place for undesirable
land uses like
landfills, jails, power plants etc.
• Zoning Bylaws
• The basic purpose of a zoning bylaw is
to
regulate what you can build and how
big the
building can be on a property.
• Individuals and Community Groups
• Need to get involved
• Public Meetings to present proposals
• After the fact

Rural Developement
 Advantages And Disadvantages Of Rural Development

 1. Introduction: Rural development is discussed in this
assignment with the different components that it exists
out of. Rural development consist out of different
components of which will be mentioned. The successes
and failures of rural development in Europe, Asia, Africa
and Latin America have also been discussed. 2. What is
rural development planning? Rural development is
planning that is guided by policies in the area with the aim
of improving the livelihood of the people in the rural
areas. This is done by developing the economy through the
existing potentials in that area. There is also a focus on
the environmental concerns of the rural areas trying to
ensure a sustainable development with the minimum
impact on the environmental conditions (Ploeg & al, 2000,
p. 390). Rural development also plans for infrastructure
development in the areas and to ensure that the areas
have the necessary service available for the people. These
services include the…show more content…
What are the components of rural development? Rural
development exists out of a number of different
generations and the failures that occurred during the first
generations are used to improve the programmes and the
Rural Development Programmes for the following
generations to come. It is a way of learning out of the
mistakes that have been made and correcting them (A
survey of Rural Development Programmes is South East
Asia, 2006, p. 20) (Machado, 2010, p. 437).

 Abstract
 The conclusion operates a return on the objective of this work,
which was to provide elements of understanding on the dynamics of
rural and peri-urban territories, combining regional science and
works more explicitly dedicated to rural development and the
policy relating thereto. The need to take fully into account the
territorial dimension—i.e. a fine knowledge of identity, governance,
organizational aspects and local resources, etc.—is emphasized as a
central element for understanding the diversity of trajectories and
patterns of rural and peri-urban areas, and implement appropriate
public policies. But think future patterns of development rural
areas also means paying attention to adaptation and resilience
processes, energy transition and climate change issues, and new
initiatives—often marked by technology and collaborative
dimensions—that bloom everywhere on the planet. The
development and implementation of experimental, interdisciplinary
and participatory research devices is in this context a crucial need.
