guajava)
• Guava tree,its scintefic name is Psidium
guajava.
• Archaeological sites in Peru yielded
evidence of guava cultivation as early in
2500 BCE.
• There are about 100 species of
guava,and more than 400 guava
cultivars, but only a few dozen are
commercially cultivated.
• India contributes to 45% of guava
production in the world.

Importance of Guava tree in our mythology
• In Hindu mythology guava is frequently
linked to Lord Krishna.
• Guava is regarded as one of Lord Krishna's
favourite fruits for a number of reasons:
during childhood his formative years in the
village of Vrindavan, Lord Krishna is
renowned for his jovial and mischievous
demeanour.

Art of this place
kaavi art -a form of murals originated in Goa. It’s found in Konkan
regions(Northern costal karnataka, Goa, Maharashtra). It can also be seen in
old houses, small shrines.

Organic cultivation of termeric
• Turmeric, A palnt in the ginger family is native to
souteast Asia.
• Its rhizome is used as a culinary spice and
traditional medicine.
• In India it is traditionally used for disorders of
skin,joints,respiratory tracks and digestive system.
• It is also supplied as a ditery fibre for
infection,allergies and liver infections,many more.
• The Hindu religion sees turmeric as auspicious
and sacred.
• Ayurvedic literature contains over 100 different
terms for termeric including Jayanthi-who wins
over diseases,Matrimanika-beautiful as
moonlight.
Water conservation
• Water makes of 70% of earth and as well as human body.
• However this precious resource is depleting day by day,the reason for
this is man-made only.
• Increased rate of industrialization and deforestation has lead to
droughts.
• There is a great need to conserve water.
• The government of Karnataka has also been implementing many
measures to conserve water.
