Education Policy
The purpose of the Gender-Responsive Basic
Education Policy is to integrate gender equality,
sensitivity, and human rights into the provision and
governance of basic education in the Philippines.
The policy aims to ensure access to quality basic
education for all and is aligned with the
Department of Education's (DepEd) vision,
mission, values, and mandate.
Entities Involved in the Policy
The policy applies to all officials and employees
of the DepEd, as well as officials and employees of
private elementary, junior, and senior high schools.
It also includes learners of public and private
elementary, junior, and senior high schools,
Special Education and Alternative Learning
System (ALS) learners, and learners in laboratory
schools of State Universities and Colleges (SUCs)
and Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs).
