Saraswati College of Engineering, Kharghar University of Mumbai. 2021-2022 ELECTRIC BIKE PPT INTRODUCTION An electric bike, also known as an e-bike or booster bike, is a bike with an integrated electric motor which can be used for propulsion. There is a great variety of e-bikes available worldwide, from e-bikes that only have a small motor to assist the rider's pedal- power to somewhat more powerful e-bikes which tend closer to moped-style functionality. E-bikes use rechargeable batteries and the lighter varieties can travel up to 25 to 32 km/h (16 to 20 mph), depending on the laws of the country in which they are sold. While the more high-powered varieties can often do in excess of 45 km/h (28 mph). Classification E-bikes are classed according to the power that their electric motor can deliver and the control system,i.e.,when and how the power from the motor is applied. With pedal-assist The electric motoris regulated by pedalling. The pedal-assist augments the effort soft he rider when they are pedalling. These e-bikes – called pedelecs – have a sensor to detect the pedalling speed, the pedalling force, or both. Brake activation is sensed to disable the motor as well. With power-on-demand the motor is activated byathrottle , usually handlebar-mounted just like on mostmotorcycles or scooters. Power-on-demand The motor is activated by a throttle, usually handlebar- mounted just like on most motorcycles or scooters. They are also useful when it would be helpful for the riders who more generally need some assistance.
Therefore, very broadly, e-bikes can be classed as:
1. E-bikes with pedal-assist only
2. E-bikes with power-on-demand and pedal-assist
3. E-bikes with power-on-demand only
E-bikes with power-on-demand and pedal-assist Some e-bikes combine both pedal-assist sensors as well as a throttle E-bikes with power-on-demand only Often have more powerful motors than pedelecs but not always, the more powerful of these are legally classed as mopeds or motorcycles. With power-on-demand only e-bikes the rider can: 1. Ride by pedal power alone, i.e. fully human-powered. 2. Ride by electric motor alone by operating the throttle manually. 3. Ride using both together at the same time. WORKING The electric motorcycles work on stored electricity. As they do not need combustion engines to run, they are free from noise as well as vibration. No roar of exhaust, transmission noises, noting! By riding them on empty roads the only things you will hear are the music in your head MOTOR WORK An electric motor generates torque that spins a shaft that's connected to a chainring. The motor is therefore supplementing your pedaling power within the bike's chain-drive, rather than adding an additional power source. There's also a gear-reduction system within the motor pack. BATTERY Batteries vary according to the voltage, total charge capacity (amphours),weight, the number of charging bike before performance degrades, and ability to hand leover-voltage charging conditions.

Two wheelers Lithium Lon Battery’s VOLTAGE most e-bike kits are rated for a specific voltage range. A typical 36V e-bike needs a battery that delivers power between 30V and 42V. A 36V pack at 42V is 100% charged and holds as much energy as it can; at 30V it should shut down and stop giving power before causing permanent damage. More on the BMS (Battery Monitoring System) in a bit. The common number '36V' is the average operating voltage, sometimes called nominal voltage. Voltage is measured in volts (V) which is used to describe how fast electrons move. More voltage = more speed! Wiring diagram ADVANTAGE 1.Easy to use. 2.Smoot hand silent. 3.Non polluting. 4.It requires non exhaustible fuel resource. 5.Zero emission.Website CONCLUSION
