Description It specifies the standards used for industrial activities in Japan. The standardization process is coordinated by Japanese Industrial Standards Committee (JISC) and published through Japanese Standards Association (JAS). Japanese companies can ensure that their products meet the same quality and safety standards as products produced in other countries. History Formed at 1945 after WWII, was authorized to incorporate by the Minister of Trade and Industry on December 6, 1945. The Industrial Standardization Law was enacted in 1949, which forms the legal foundation for the present Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS). All standards published trough JSA (Japan Standard Association). JIS MARK The Industrial Standardization Law was revised in 2004 and the product certification system was changed.
After October 1, 2008, all JIS certified
products shall have the new marks.
