 INTRODUCTION
Shampoo: Objectives of Herbal Shampoo:-

Herbal shampoo :

d) No animal testing. Skin friendly, These shampoos help in the strengthening the root which in turn helps in
increasing the growth of hair.
e) Herbal shampoos allows to help in increasing the shine of hair therefore for one who suffers from dry and dull
hair these herbal shampoos are beneficial
f) It enhances the roots and helps in the formation of new roots which are soft then before.
g) Herbal shampoos help in reducing the dandruff production in the scalp.
Disadvantages of Herbal shampoo:

a) Herbal shampoos may produce less foam compared to commercial shampoos.

b) The effectiveness of herbal shampoos can vary based on formulations and individual hair types.
c) Some individuals may prefer the artificial fragrances found in commercial shampoos.
d) High-quality herbal shampoos can be more expensive than certain commercial alternatives.

1.Fenugreek :-

Botanical name : Trigonella foenum graecum.

Botanical name : Phyllanthus emblica

Active constituents : Amla is known as Indian gooseberry, is a popular ingredient

in herbal shampoo due to its rich nutrient profile . here are some of the active
constituent of Amla –
Vitamin c (ascorbic acid) , tannins , gallic acid , ellagic acid , fiber , minerals , Fig: Amla
proteins.

 5. Shikakai :
Botanical name : Acacia concinna

Active constituents : Saponins , tannins , flavonoids ,alkaloids, vitamin©,

phytosterols ,natural sugar ,acacia acid , fatty acid .

Uses : Fig: Shikkai

Gentle cleansing : role :shikakai contains natural Saponins
Benefit : provide a mind & gentle cleaning action effectively removing dirt oil
&impurities form hair scalp.

Method of Preparation of Herbal Shampoo:-

1. Accurately weigh all ingredients and soak it for overnight.

2. Next morning (all ingredient becomes puffy and filled with water. After soaking overnight)
3.boil the ingredients in the same water on medium flame then cool the mixture and filter.
4. Methyl paraben was added for preservation and Developed shampoo.
5. It was stored in a suitable container and used for further evaluation.

 CONCLUSION

The Present study was carried out with the aim of Preparing the herbal
shampoo to provide hair care using natural ingredient derived from plants.
Herbal shampoo was formulated with the aqueous extract of medicinal plants
that are commonly used for cleansing hair traditionally.
The main purpose behind this investigation was to develop a stable and
functionally effective shampoo by excluding all the types of synthetic
additives ,which are normally incorporated in such formulations .
