REVIEW MEETING ON PROJECT PROGRESS - 1

PROJECT NAME:-
UPGRADE OF EXISTING 265 sqmm AAC TO 400 sqmm AAC
FROM KNUST PS-KAASE PS AND KAASE PS – RIDGE PS,
KUMASI.

ARVENSIS ENERGY PRIVATE LIMITED


Scope of Work:
The scope of works includes replacement of existing 265 Sq.mm Conductor with 400 Sq.mm Conductor on
33KV DC towers along with replacement of hardware and fittings & Replacement of existing 1Cx500 sqmm CU
Cable with 2 Runs-1C x 630 Sq.mm XLPE underground cable by excavation of cable trench wherever
required.

LINE 1: KASSE-RIDGE 33KV DC LINE :


OH LINE LENGTH: 6 KMS
UG CABLE ROUTE LENGTH : 1.570 KMS

LINE 2: KASSE-BOADE 33KV DC LINE:


OH LINE LENGTH: 11 KMS
UG CABLE ROUTE LENGTH : 1.797 KMS
Material Supply Status and Availability For Both Line-1 & Line-2:
 50% of required material for project execution available on-site and balance material is in transit
i.e., In Shipping and will reach the site soon.

Work Progress:
LINE 1: KASSE-RIDGE 33KV DC LINE:

 UG Cable laying works: 80% works completed.


 Thrust Boring: 76 Mtrs

Loc-1 near Ridge SS-40 Mtrs

Loc-2 near kingdom gas station-16 Mtrs

Loc-3 near kaase SS-20 Mtrs


 Excavation, Cable Laying & Back Filling:

Cable trench excavation: 944 Mtrs

Cable laying including back filling: 895 Mtrs

 Replacement of existing conductor works: 30% works completed.


 Re-Conductoring works: 970 Meters of double circuit line Re-Conductoring completed.

Section-1: 730m(Tower 1 to Tower 6)

Section-2: 240m (Tower 6 to Tower 8)


LINE 2: KASSE-BOADE 33KV DC LINE:

• UG Cable: 30% works completed.

 Thrust Boring: 43 Mtrs

Loc-1 near Sawua Junction-40 Mtrs

Loc-2 near KNUST -16 Mtrs

 Excavation, Cable Laying & Back Filling

220 Meters of trench excavation and sand filling completed & cable laying is in progress.

• Tower Foundation: 20% works completed.

 Tower Excavation and Foundation works:

4 Nos towers excavation & 3 Nos towers foundations completed.

PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION SCHEDULE

CHALLENGES ENCOUNTERED

1. Right-of-Way (ROW) Obstacles:


• At new tower foundation sites, encountering ROW obstacles.
• Excavated foundation pits at 4 Nos locations were back-filled by the landlords.
• Suspension of one tower foundation from 03.05.2024.

2. Relocation of Existing 11kv & LT Lines:


• Shifting of existing 11kV & Lt lines near the new tower foundation sites.

3. Working Hours Restriction:


• Limited working hours: Shutdown permit given from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM only, resulting in 7
hours of working time availability per day. which is not adequate for efficient progress.
