The culture of Tamil Nadu
is a blend of ancient
traditions, art, music, and
literature. The people of
Tamil Nadu take pride in
their Dravidian culture,
which has its own distinct
language, Tamil, and a
unique style of
architecture, art, and
dance.
Climate of Tamil
Nadu
Climate. The climate of
Tamil Nadu is essentially
tropical. In May and June,
the hottest months,
maximum daily
temperatures in Chennai
average about 100 °F (38
°C), while minimum
temperatures average in
the low 80s F (upper 20s
C).
Soil of Tamil Nadu
The soils in Tamil Nadu are
broadly classified into five
types according to their
characteristics. They are 1.
alluvial soil, 2. black soil, 3.
red soil, 4. laterite soil, 5.
saline soil. Red Soil is one of
the most common soil types
found in Tamil Nadu, covering
nearly two-thirds of the state.
Black soil is found
in Coimbatore, Madhurai,
Virudhanagar etc.
and Laterite soil is found in
parts of Kancheepuram,
Tiruvallur and Thanjavur.

maize, and pulses are the
most common crops
grown in Tamil Nadu.
Cotton, sugarcane, tea,
coffee, and coconut are
some of the other crops
that are widely grown in
Tamil Nadu. In its

remarkable standing in the
horticultural industry.

Bhogi, Pongal, Mattu
