1) How many computers are in the network
2) How many are wired and how many are wirelessly
connected
3) The computer which is issues, is a Laptop or a Desktop.
4) If any other computer can go online wirelessly
5) Brand and Model of the Wireless Router
6) Brand and Model of the wireless adapter installed on the
computer which has issues.
7) Ask customer if he knows the type of Security on the
network (WEP/WPA/WPA2)
Common Issues
• Error: No Wireless Networks were found within the
range.
• Cannot connect to Wireless Network (Limited or no
connectivity)
• Cannot connect to Wireless Network after installing
SP3
• Error after you click on “Connect” : This network is no
more in range…..
• Error : Windows cannot configure this wireless
network.
First Step
If a customer calls in saying he is not able to go
Online wirelessly, after you collect all the relevant
information, try and see if customer can hardwire the
computer to the Wireless Router and check if he can
go Online. If yes, you can use Easy Assist, to
troubleshoot further…..!!!!!
Error: No Wireless Networks were
found within the range.
If the computer showing this error is a Laptop, make
sure that the Wireless Switch on the Laptop (Which is
normally located near the CD Drive or in the line of
Function Keys)is Turned ON
