INTRODUCTION

 HAI Surveillance is a Care Component of infections


prevention and control program world wide. The
reliability of HAI Surveillance depends on the use of
standardised definitions.
DEFINITION
 The purpose of HAI (Health Care - Associated infections).
are infections people gets while they are receiving health
Care for another Condition.
 HAI, Can happen is any health-care facility, including
hospitals, ambulatory surgical Centers. end stage renal
disease facilities, and long- term Care Facilities.
TYPES OF HAI INFECTION

 These health Care - associated infections


(HAI) include three types:-
I. Central line-associated bloodstream infections.
II. Catheter associated urinary tract infections.
III. Ventilator - Associated pneumonia.
• The surveillance of the hospital - aquired infections is a close
observation of the occurance, the probability of occurance or rate of
occurance of Nasocomial infections thus helping in the Control and
preventions such infections.
• The prevalence rate of the nosocomial infections any health-care
facility is a minor issue of the quality and safety of the health Care
administered.
• The purpose of any survaillance program is to reduce the hospital-
acquired infection and also to make the preventive measure, more Cost-
effective by keeping a check on the Proble Current and past HAIs and
the risk involved.
