citizens of a country by law to enjoy
certain freedoms without fear.

Human Rights

Human rights: Law obliges States to do certain things and to refrain from
doing others. For example, States have an obligation to provide every
individual with the opportunity for education. At the same time, they have the
duty to reject any action that may result in discrimination against a group of
individuals in exercising that right on the grounds of race, colour, sex,
language, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth
or other status.

Women Rights In Pakistan

According to Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), 1860:

1. Prohibition of depriving women from inheriting property (498A)

2. Prohibition of forced marriage ( 498B)

3. Prohibition of marriage with religious Book ( 498C)

4. Prevention from Domestic abuse Violence (Prevention & Protection Bill, 2013)

5. Crime of rape (section 375)

6. Dowry and Bridal Gifts(Restriction) Act, 1976

Section 3 provides that presents given to bride by her parents, or
the presents given to bridegroom shall not exceed five thousand
rupees.

Section 6 provides that expenditure on marriage including


mehandi, barat and valima shall not exceed twenty-five hundred
rupees.

Section 9 provides that in case of violation of above the person


would be punishable with imprisonment which may extent to six
months.
