Who was Elvis
Presley?
Elvis Presley was a famous musician that is
known to have invented the genre known as
“rock n roll” in the 50s-70s. He was born
January 8. 1936, and died August 16, 1977.
He created many famous songs such as
“Jailhouse Rock”, “Suspicious Minds”, “Hound
Dog”, “Cant Help Falling in Love”, “Burning
Love”, and many, many more.

Elvis Presley went to Humes Middle-High
School. He graduated there in 1953.
Who was Elvis
Presley before he was
famous?
Elvis had a number of jobs before he was
famous. In 1952 he worked for MARL Metal
Products, a furniture manufacturer. When he
graduated in 1953, he immediately started
pursuing his musical career by singing for the
Sun Records Label in Memphis, Tennessee.
He took off in 1954 with his first single
“That’s All Right”. Then in 1955, his recording
contract was sold to RCA Victor. Finally in
1956, he was an international success.

Elvis Presley is known for a lot of things. He is
known for all the hit songs he made, his
amazing voice, the controversy over the way
he danced. The main thing he is known for
would be for being the man who popularized
rock n’ roll in America. His “way” influenced
many generations to come.

Sadly, he is also known for dying on the


toilet.

Legacy
Elvis Presley made Rock N Roll what it is
today. Without him, there might not have
been any Beatles, Queen, AC DC, Rolling
Stones, Elton John, Billy Joel, just to name a
few. Elvis made Rock N’ Roll popular in the
United States. He is and will be forever
known as one of, if not the greatest, Rock n’
Roll Legend of all time.
