INTRODUCTION
Bioethanol has been identified as the most used biofuel worldwide
since it significantly contributes to the reduction of crude oil
consumption and environmental pollution
Bioethanol is an alcohol made by microbial fermentation from comes
from a renewable resource i.e. crops
Bioethanol is an Transesterification process
Spinach stem are agricultural waste products
Yeast is the most commonly employed yeast in industrial ethanol
production as it tolerates a wide range of pH (Gerlach, 2015)
AIM AND OBJECTIVES
To find the concentration and reducing sugar of ethanol produced of
bioethanol from spinach stem by Saccharomyces cerevisiae (baker
yeast).
To determine the quantity and percentage yield of bioethanol
production from spinach stem using baker yeast
METHODOLOGY
Sample Collection : The sugarcane bagasse was obtained from Sokoto
Central Market and Saccharomyces cerevisiae was obtained from
mycology laboratory at UDUS.
Sample pretreatment
Hydrolysis
Fermentation
Distillation
