MUSHROOM HOUSE

bamboo rack.
• Distance between two
rack=2 feet
• In each rack distance
between two bamboo
strips=10inch
• Distance between one
mushroom bed to another
bed =6 inch
MATERIAL REQUIRED FOR
MUSHROOM CULTIVATION
1. Usually square sized beds 1.5’ *1.5 ‘ * 1.5’ length, width and heights respectively are used for mushroom cultivation.
• For one such beds the inputs are:-
• Paddy straw=14 bundles(7.5 kg)
• Spawn=1 bottle or 200gram
Organic supplements:-
Wheat bran=200gram
Polythene sheet:-5’ * 5’
Lime:-20gram in 1Lwater
PREPARATION OF MUSHROOM BED
• Soaking the straw bundle in lime water for 12 hours.
• Drinking of excess water from straw bundles by placing inclined position against wall.
• Stem sterilization for 30 minutes before draining the water from bundles.
• During soaking the straw bundle are soaked inside the tank containing water.
• Then drained out excess water after per requisite time.
• After sterilization maintain about 60% moisture contains in the substrate be feel them with hand
preuing.
• Divide the straw bundle as 3 . 3 . 3 and 3 parts
and divided spawn and wheat bran into 3 parts.
• Divide the straw bundles as 4. 4. 4 and 2 parts
and divide spawn and gram powder into 4 parts.
• Prepare 1st layer by placing 4 bundles of straw
either in north-south or east-west direction.
• After bed preparation of 1st later place one parts
spawn over the 1st layer leaving 5cm from the
edge.
• Then put one part gram powder and spread over
the spawn.
• Next step again 4 bundles kept spreading over
the spawn or 1st layer.
• Again the spawn and gram powder place over
2nd layer. It is repeated up to 3rd layer at the edge
and centre place.
• Then spread over the 2nd part straw bundle over
3rd layer..
• After complete bed preparation they are covered with loosely
polythene.
• The purpose polythene cover are :-
• To maintain bed temperature
• To conserve bed moisture
• To prevent entry of contaminants
• To increase Co2 concentration in the beds
• Allow polythene cover for 8-10 days till the pin head and appear.
• Pin head will mature in 3-4 days.
Harvest the mushroom at egg or button stage.
Remove the whole mushroom from the bed.
Avoid of beds upto 1st flesh and during fruiting.
Sprayer can be used doe watering the beds after 1 st flush or 12-13 days after
bed preparation.
Then mushroom are packed are perforatec polybags for marketing.
