INTRODUCTION
Information Technology in the business world paved the way for the
emergence of technological tools that were developed and designed
specifically for the growth of every existing business. A common tool
that is most used in the business industry is the POS system. A POS
System is a tool that is used to accommodate a business by keeping
track of business related variables such as customers, products,
employees, and more. A POS System is commonly present and used
in E-commerce where the buying and selling of products is prevalent.
Developing a POS system is essential in the business world as it
provides an efficient way for businesses to grow and expand.
Equipping a POS System will result in the advancement of a business.

Cofioca Mini Mart is a retail company, located at Kabankalan City,


Rizal Street, Barangay 7. The company is well-known for their
merchandising business, selling different products especially food and
beverages. Recently they are experiencing a decrease in sales and
have a hard time of managing their customers and products. Hence
they have requested us to develop a POS system that will help them
keep track of sales and improve overall business.

OBJECTIVES
To keep track of and manage product data.
To keep track of and manage customer data.
To be able to sell products through the use of technology.
To allow payments.
To easily generate sales report.
To accommodate customers' requests.
SCOPE
Sales Management: The system is be able to handle sales transactions,
including item selection, and calculation of totals, and discounts.
Inventory Management: It should track the store’s inventory, including stock
levels, item details, and automatic inventory updates based on sales.
Reporting: The system can generate reports on sales and revenue.
Customer Management: It may include basic customer information tracking,
such as contact details and purchase history.
Payment Methods: The system can integrate two payment methods, through
Cash-On-Delivery and GCash application.

Lack of Barcode
Response time for customer support is slow due to limited to no staff at all
besides the admin
Lack of employee service as the system does not need intervention of an
employee to work properly
The system runs online resulting no access for customers without internet
 The system only offers merchandising and service business(meaning no
manufacturing business included)
DATA FLOW DIAGRAM

Illustration above is the context diagram of the overall function of our


system. From the diagram we can see the major entities that have a
significant relationship with our POS system. Admin can access the database
of our POS system by entering specialized admin email and password to
view and modify stock details. After accessing the database, admin can
receive revenue report and sales list from our POS system.

Another entity that is present in our diagram is the customer. Customers


need to access our POS system by logging in or registering as a user. After
doing so, customer can now view purchasing details such as product
information and payment details which the POS system provides for the
customer.
FUNCTIONS
1 Inventory Management
 Our POS system is able to keep track and manage business related data
and information.

2 Customer Management
 Our POS system is able to record customer data such as customer’s
name, address, and age.

3 E-commerce

 Our POS system is able to sell products online.

4 Payments
 Our POS system has a payment area where the user can pay for the
product/s they want to buy.

5 Sales & Revenue Report


 Our POS system provides a list of sales that can be used to improve
business.

6 Inventory Management
 Our POS system allow and encourage users to contact our staff for
transaction issues and other business related problems.
