photography
Method of recording permanent images by the action of light projected by a
lens in a camera onto a film or other light-sensitive material
Photography is the process, activity and art of creating still or moving
pictures by recording radiation on a sensitive medium, such as a
photographic film, or an electronic sensor. Light patterns reflected or emitted
from objects activate a sensitive chemical or electronic sensor during a timed
exposure, usually through a photographic lens in a device known as a camera
that also stores the resulting information chemically or electronically.
Photography has many uses for business, science, art and pleasure.
The word "photograph" was coined in 1839 by Sir John Herschel and is based
on the Greek φῶς (phos) "light" and γραφή (graphê) "representation by means
of lines" or "drawing", together meaning "drawing with light
Basic Development of photography-
principles principles
started from basic
of pinhole camera
(a camera without
lens)
Explained “ that light rays reflected
from a subject will pass through the
tiny opening and form an exact
image on the other side”
Characteristic of pinhole image:
inverted, real, dim .
This principle : applied as drawing
aid called camera obscura..

Remarks
Basically all cameras (film camera or digital camera)
are similar (in their body construction, part and its
function)
Light is very basic material in photography-no light
mean no vision and no light also no photography.
Without ‘film / image sensor’ camera cannot record
any image itself.
A camera cannot work by itself without photographer
who operate it.
