Organised “Water Quality

By:
Monitoring & Surveillance (WQM&S)”

State Water & Sanitation

Mission,
Namami Gange & Rural
Water Supply Department
Uttar Pradesh
07/15/2024 A step towards developing 'The Roadmap for
The Importance of WQM&S
Water quality testing is
important because it identifies
contaminants and
prevents water-borne diseases.

Essentially, water quality

testing makes sure
that water is safe and meets
local and
international water standards.
Water Borne Diseases
Arsenic Poisoning Case Fluoride Poisoning Case JE/AES Case

Lead Poisoning Case Polio Case Iron Poisoning Case

Adverse effects of drinking water with chemical
contamination
Challenges in WQ Sector-
1. To make functional all district & block level
laboratories ( 75+822 = 897).

2. NABL (National Accreditation Board for Testing &

Calibration Laboratories) Accreditation of all
laboratories.

3. Regular monitoring of approx. 30 lakh water

resources annually & create plan accordingly in a
regular basis.

4. Priority Districts affected with Arsenic Poisoning –

25 & Districts affected with Fluoride – 63

Hub –and-Spoke Model

1. The hub-&-spoke model yields a healthcare network

consisting of a main campus and one or more satellite
campuses.

2. It is much more efficient than organisation designs which

replicate operations across multiple sites.

3. Hub and Spoke networks are highly scalable with satellites

being added as needed or desired.
Turnkey Basis

Laboratory project to be a Turnkey project, beginning with

the Analysis, Up to the laboratory building, The Working
Process , Laboratory organisation, Basic Rules &
Regulations.

Turnkey designs mean that customer does not have to

manage anything-Performance Expectation, Technical
Specification, Space Limitations.

“Timely Completion and Within the
