THE PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT ROLE OF LINE MANAGERS

The Line Manager’s Role


1. At the planning and performance agreement stage
they agree with team members their roles, goals and
performance improvement and personal
development plans.
2. They manage performance throughout the year by
monitoring achievements against the plan, providing
feedback and coaching as necessary.
3. At the review stage they conduct formal review
meetings and provide formal feedback as the basis
for forward planning.
