Introduction to weaving
1. Tabby weave
Tabby weave is the most basic of three fundamental types of textile weaves. And they are also known as Plain
weave.

Tabby weave is mostly used in Fashion and Furnishing fabrics.


And also in making of muslin and canvas fabrics.

The main advantage of tabby weave is that they are stronger and firmer than any other ordinary weave.
Tabby woven fabrics need not to be ironed repeatedly for maintaining its smooth appearance.
It provides a structure look to products.

Accordingly, Dhotis, sarees, blankets, suits and shirts

The basket weave is a variation of the plain weave in which two or more warp yarns cross alternately with two
or more filling yarns, resembling a plaited basket.
