Stress: Stress can be defined as our emotional, mental, physical and social reaction to any perceived demands or
threats. These demands or threats are called stressors. Stressors are the reason for stress.

Factors that can contribute to Stress are:


• Threat
• Unrealistic Goals
• Dangerous Situations
• Financial Loss
• Societal or Peer pressure

Stress Management:
Stress Management refers to a wide range of techniques that enable a person to cope with Psychological Stress
Effectively.

Stress Management Techniques:


• Physical Exercise
• Yoga
• Meditation
• Vacations with Friends and Family
• Taking Nature Walk.

Self Awareness: Self Awareness means being aware of your personality, including your
strengths, weaknesses, thoughts, beliefs, emotions and motivation
■ Types of Self Awareness
1) External Self-Awareness- This type of awareness requires understanding how other
people perceive us
2) Internal Self-Awareness-This type of awareness represents how we see our values,
passion, aspirations, thoughts, feelings, behaviour, strength, weakness and their impact
on others
Self Motivation: Self Motivation drives a person to attempt and accomplish tasks.
Types of Self Motivation:
3) Intrinsic Motivation: It refers to the behaviour of a person that is driven by his innate
desire to do something for his own sake and personal rewards.
4) Extinsic Motivation: It refers to the behaviour of a person that bis driven by the desire
to attain some sort of an external reward including money, power and good grades.
Self Regulation
■ Self Regulation is the ability n to understand and manage your reaction to the things
happening around you.
