Type of soil found in Thane,
Sandy Loam Soil:

● Suitable Foundations: Strip foundations, raft foundations,

● Considerations: Ensure proper compaction and avoid waterlogging. Sandy soils can shift, so ensuring stability is crucial.

Black Soil:

● Suitable Foundations: Pile foundations or under-reamed pile foundations.

● Considerations: Black soil can swell and shrink significantly with moisture changes, leading to potential foundation movement. Pile
foundations help transfer the load to deeper, more stable soil layers.

Red Soil:

● Suitable Foundations: Strip foundations, pad foundations, or raft foundations.

● Considerations: Generally stable and good for bearing capacity, but site-specific conditions should still be assessed.
