“verb patterns” refers to the way as verbs interact each
other when they are placed together in a sentence.
E.g.:
I want to go to Madrid
I can go to Madrid
I want sleep.(incorrect) I want to sleep
I love eat ice cream. (incorrect)
I love eating ice cream
