• Safety is a method or process put in place to prevent injury
from happening
• The lathe machine can cause serious injury therefore safety
rules on the machine must be observed.
• Be aware of safety requirements in any area of the shop.
• Always attempt to observe safety rules.

WORKPLACE

• MOVONG PARTS: Rotating chuck, cutting tools, and


workpiece
• FLYING DEBRIS: Metal Chips, Sparks, and coolant
• ELECTRICAL HAZARDS: Exposed wires or faulty connections
• ENTANGLEMENT: LOOSE CLOTHING, JEWELRY, OR
HIAR
SAFETY PROTOCOLS OF LATHE MACHINE

• Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE),


• Securely clamp or fixture the workpiece before starting the lathe machine
operation.
• Keep hands and clothing away from moving parts, such as the rotating chuck,
cutting tools, and workpiece.

• Disconnect the power source and follow the lockout/tagout procedures before
performing any maintenance or adjustments on the lathe machine
