What is assessment?

Assessment is an important and integral part


of the teaching and learning process. It helps
us understand where our students are in their
learning journey, provides feedback, and
guides our teaching practices.
Types of Assessment

There are different types of assessment


that can be utilized to effectively assess
the students’ performance.

Assessment as Learning
Diagnostic Assessment: "These are used to identify students'
existing knowledge and skills before instruction begins.
Examples include pre-tests and initial surveys."

Formative Assessment: "These are ongoing assessments used
to monitor student learning and provide feedback. Examples
include quizzes, class discussions, and homework
assignments."

Learners are divided into small group (five to
six people) to work on a common problem.
After discussing, each group report a solution

Each student think about a topic provided by the teacher
then pair up with another student to discuss it until they
generate a concept, a conclusion through
inductive/deductive reasoning and an application of the
concept is developed. In the end, each pair shares their
thoughts to the entire class.

Students are divided into pairs to share a
personal information(such as hypothesis,
reactions to a literary piece or conclusions
