INTRoDUCTION

 The respiratory system is the network of organs and tissues that help us to breath.
 It is process through which humans takes in oxygen and give out carbon dioxide.
 The human respiration system includes :-
1. NASAL PASSAGE
2. ORAL CAVITY
3. PHARYNX
4. TRACHEA
5. LUNGS
6. RIBS
7. DIAPHRAM
Labelled diagram of human respiratory system
1. Nasal passage

 Normally we take air through

our nostrils.
 When we inhale air, it passes
through our nostrils into the
nasal cavity.
 The nasal cavity lies above the
bone that forms the roof of the
mouth and curves down at back
to join throat. It is divided into
2(two) sections called NASAL
PASSAGE.
2. Oral cavity

 The mouth is also called as oral cavity or buccal

cavity.
 This includes:-
1. Lips
2. Teeth
3. Upper and lower gums
4. Tongue
5. Salivary glands
 The mouth is an important part as it is helpful
for communication , eating , digestion.
3. Pharynx

 Pharynx is commonly called as throat.

 Pharynx is connected to mouth and nose to the oesophagus (food pipe).
4. Trachea

 Human and insects have a network of air tubes called Trachea for gas
exchange .
5. Lungs

 Lungs are the main organ of the respiratory system for humans.
 It allows us to breathe.
 Ithelps us to taken in oxygen (Inhale) and release the carbon
dioxide ( Exhale).
6.Ribs

 A Rib is a curved bone in chest.

 Rib protect the internal organs.
7.Diaphragm

 A large muscular sheet called diaphragm.

 Diaphragm forms the floor of the chest cavity.
