Totem Cube
Here are some of the parts I am doing
of our group's panda totem cube. At
the top right corner is the rear end, as a
panda does have a stubbed tail and a
black stripe to go along with it. At the
bottom left corner there is the panda's
left arm with the supposed to be black
stripe. Then at the bottom right corner,
there is the small semi-oval shaped
ears.
Totem Pole
I tried to do a Malaysian hornbill, but it ended
up looking like a bird. I chose it because it is
the national bird of Malaysia, I chose many
colours for it because it represents many of
them.
I chose a wolf for my second animal because I
like wolves and they are one of my favourite
animals. I chose these colours because in a
battle it needs power, blood and skies for
soaring when jumping
I did a tiger because the Malaysian tiger is the
national animal of Malaysia. I chose these kind
of colours because tiger's like sunlight and are
happy.
I drew these three pieces of the panda's body. First
of all, the panda's face I drew and coloured: stripes

Totem Pattern on its nose, yellow eyes, blue pupils and a black
mouth. Secondly, the paw holding bamboo and the
panda's stripe: random triangles in green, yellow
and red in colour, a black paw, and dark green
bamboo.
Me, Beth, Anjali and Farhan wrapped the box that Anjali brought in
Totem Box with gum tape, we dipped a small sponge into a water cup, then we
got a strip of gum tape and smeared water along it, then we stuck it
on every side of the box until It was all covered.
Totem Box Acessories
I drew the arm with the
bamboo sticking on it, the
black stripe on the panda was
replaced with a pattern. We
added ears for the panda: the
template was a semi-circle, it
was stuffed with newspaper,
then covered with gum tape.
Totem Box Acessories (Continued)

We glued ears and a tail, and we tried

to make the box look more 3d. Farhan
and I made a template of the panda's
eyes and covered it in gum tape (not in
pictures), I made a template of the
bamboo held by a panda's hand and
also covered it with gum tape (not in
pictures).
Totem Box +I drew on cardboard a 3d version of the pattern of
Accessories the panda, Beth and Anjali made a 3d version of the
panda's arm.

stuck them on the Totem Box,
Anjali also made 3D bamboo
pieces too.
ISLAMIC ART
ISLAMIC ART
+ Islamic art is visual art produced from the seventh century
onward by both Muslims and non-Muslims who lived within
the Islamic territory that was inhabited by and ruled. It is a
very difficult art to define because it spans over 1400 years,
covering many lands and populations. This art is also not of a
specific religion, time, or place. Instead Islamic art covers a
range of artistic fields including architecture, calligraphy,
painting, glass, ceramics, textiles, and more.
Totem Box + Beth, Anjali and Farhan were painting the
finished box white, while I was drawing the
Accessories design ideas when we go to our next art class. I
(Continued Part 4) also had to make a 3D nose again as the mod
rock got soggy and broke down.
