Daily Life
Positive Impacts and Negative Impacts
Positive
• Education- transformed the educational sector, making
it easier for people to access information and learn new
skills.
• Communication- made it possible for us to connect with
others instantly and effortlessly, regardless of location.
• Employment- changed the way people work,
freelancing or working remotely.
• Financial Services- enabled us to easily open accounts,
make deposits and withdrawals and access various
banking options through computer or even a cell phone
app.
• Shopping- made it possible for us to shop from the
comfort of our own homes, with a vast array of products
and services available at our fingertips, with retailers
offering home delivery or pickup options.
• Entertainment- access a wide range of movies, music,
games online and even compete against others from
around the world in online gaming tournaments.
Negative
Job Loss- manual operations being replaced by automation
e.g. robots replacing people on an assembly line
Reduced Personal Interaction- they do not get the chance
to meet and talk with other people and they may feel isolated
and unhappy.
Reduced Physical Activity- users may adopt a more
sedentary lifestyle that can lead to health problems.
Education- students and sometimes teachers can get hooked
on the technology aspect, rather than the subject content.
• ICT is used everywhere.
• ICT became a key-item in everyday life.
• Made our lives more convenient and
connected and will continue to evolve and
shape our future in countless ways.
