Tongue Twister
Battle
Instructions
Hello, students! Get ready for a thrilling event during our
English Day presentation - the Tongue Twister Battle! This is
your chance to showcase your linguistic skills and quick
thinking. Here’s everything you need to know to prepare and
compete in this exciting challenge.
Preparation Phase:
1. Selection of Representatives:
o Each grade is required to choose two
representatives from each homeroom to
participate in the event. Make sure to select
students who are confident, quick, and have a
knack for tongue twisters.
Preparation Phase:
2. Practice Makes Perfect:
o Once the representatives are chosen, they will be
given specific tongue twisters to practice. Dedication
and practice are key, as these pieces will help you
prepare for the competition day. However, remember
that the actual tongue twister you will perform during
the event will be chosen by the judges, so be ready for
a surprise!
Battle Format:
o The competition will be held in a battle format, with students
competing in pairs based on their grade levels:
Grade 1 vs Grade 2
Grade 3 vs Grade 4
Grade 5 vs Grade 6
Grade 7 vs. Grade 8
Grade 9 vs. Grade 10
Grade 11 vs. Grade 12
Judging Criteria
o Winners will be determined based on two main
criteria:
Time: The shorter the amount of time you
take to recite the tongue twister, the better.
Accuracy: The fewer errors you make while
reciting, the higher your chances of winning.
Determining the Winner:
o In each grade-level battle (e.g., Grade 7 vs.
Grade 8), there will be four contestants
competing. However, ONLY ONE WINNER will
be declared for each battle. This means you
not only have to be fast and accurate but also
the best among the four contestants.
