Objectives…
Ecommerce infrastructure refers to all the facilities and tools needed to run your ecommerce business. This
includes the hardware, software, network, and services that support your operations from start to finish.
• These include;
Technology (website design and development, hosting, ecommerce website maintenance, and content
management)
Sales and marketing (different channels like email, social media and search engines as well as paid
advertising.)
Customer service(Live chat with phone support.)
Fulfillment (dropshipping, Amazon)
Finance (infrastructure that can support your increasing financial transactions. Besides your sales and
payments from alternative channels, make sure you can closely track applicable vendor fees, subscription
fees, and taxes.)
Dropshipping Vs Amazon
• Dropshipping is an order fulfilment method where a business doesn’t keep the products it sells in stock. Instead, the
seller purchases inventory as needed from a third party—usually a wholesaler or manufacturer—to fulfil orders.
• The biggest difference between dropshipping and the standard retail model is that the selling merchant doesn’t
stock or own inventory—they act as the middleman.
• A dropshipper is a person or business that uses the dropshipping model of buying inventory and fulfilment logistics
from a third party, instead of warehousing and shipping the products themselves.
• With Amazon , your product will be shipped to an Amazon warehouse where it will be fulfilled by the mega
retailer. Amazon then takes a fulfillment fee, which will have to be factored in with the pricing. Amazon FBA is
used by sellers who are purchasing items in bulk from a manufacturer or a supplier.
• Amazon dropshipping is a process where you offer a product for sale on Amazon and you ship the product yourself
to the customer. You will still have to pay a fee to sell your product on Amazon. However, the fee is not as high as
