Conclusion/Recommendations

i. The management of NPHCDA and Jigawa SPHCDA to advocate for high-level political commitment for health
care delivery in the state.

ii. Ministry of health and/or SPHCDA to sensitize and encourage female enrolment in health training institutions
to fill the identified gap of female health workers in the state.

iii. SPHCDA to conduct human resource audit with the view of redistributing staff to underserved communities in
the state.

iv. If iii above did not address the identified gaps in HRH, the state should consider task-shifting, engagement of
volunteer health worker while sustaining advocacy to state government for recruitment of more health
workers (especially female health workers) in the PHC space.
