Influence Towards Pupils Learning Skills

Introduction/Background of the Study
The most positive effect of electronic gadget on students
is that it widely helps and enhances the learning process of
students. Each and every detail of all the subjects are
available online using the gadgets that can help them do the
search of new information on various sites where students
can go if they’re stuck. The best part is that it is only a click
away. Since technology today has made smartphones,
laptops, and iPads so easily available to carry for everyone,
students can manage their work from anywhere. of
technology even more. (OECD, 2018).
Introduction/Background of the Study
Smartboards and 3D printers have also made their way into the
classrooms which can practically teach students the subjects their
studying (Carey et al., 2018). The new stress that the COVID-19
pandemic has brought nowadays has put technology on the front
seat even more than before. The use of online teaching during the
pandemic increased which has made students learn more and more
about technology and how to properly use it to study. Where before
not all schools and colleges were readily using technology to
facilitate learning and student, COVID-19 has made it a necessity.
Tech companies are looking to develop tools and user-friendly tech
that will propel the use of technology even more. (OECD, 2018).

FINDINGS 1 The result revealed that high mean Indicators were “ I use my gadgets when I have
assignments (Mean = 3.74, SD = 1.21), “ I always use my gadgets in searching some
of the hard terms and solution especially in Math and English through the use of
internet” (Mean = 3.69, SD = 1.10), “ I use my electronic gadgets every time I have
the hard time to understand my Math lesson, I watch YouTube for detailed
discussions on how to solve it” (Mean = 3.36, SD = 1.21). Lowest mean indicator “ I
always use my electronic gadgets when I have essay in my class to acquire more
ideas about the topic” (Mean = 2.91, SD = 1.49). This means that indicators with
the highest means indicate that the electronic gadgets are very useful it make the
process of doing assignments much easier and the indicator with the lowest means
indicates that the electronic gadgets can also be used to look up difficult terms in
English.
CONCLUSION 1 The use of electronic gadgets among learners
has a number of benefits. These include the
ability to access a range of educational
content, the promotion of collaborative
learning, and the potential to reduce the cost
of education. Therefore, it is essential that
learners make use of electronic gadgets in
their educational pursuits.
RECOMMENDATION 1 Parents must know that electronic gadgets
help their children’s learning. Therefore,
parents should provide electronic gadgets to
their child.

terms of thinking skills have a high Mean Indicators were “ I can focus my studies,
(Mean = 4.22, SD = 1.12), “ I can understand easily the main point of the story I
have read because internet will give complete details about the story by using my
gadgets, (Mean = 4.19, SD = 1.16), “ I can easily understand my lessons especially
in math and English through the use of internet, (Mean = 4.19, SD = 0.89). Lowest
mean indicator “ Internet guides me in my studies through the use of my
cellphone and computer”, (Mean = 3.80, SD = 1.35). In terms of social skills High
Mean Indicators were “ I can reach out my love ones easily, (Mean = 4.60, SD =
0.83), “ I can easily make friends in the internet through the use of my cellphone”,
(Mean = 4.18, SD = 1.07), “ I feel excited when using electronic gadgets because I

FINDINGS 3 The result revealed that the variables in terms of Thinking
skills (r = .124, p – value = .033), Social skills (r = .062, p –
value = .028) and academic skills (r = .107, p – value
= .018) had significant relationship between the influence
of electronic gadgets on pupils’ learning. Therefore, we
reject the null hypothesis which states that there is no
significant relationship between the extent of use of
electronic gadgets among learners and influence of
electronic gadgets on pupils’ learning in terms of thinking
skills, social, and academic skills. This implies the
influence of electronic gadgets on pupils’ learning in
terms of thinking skills, social, and academic skills is
significant.
CONCLUSION 3 This implies the influence of electronic gadgets on
pupils’ learning in terms of thinking skills, social, and
academic skills is significant. Therefore, the extent of
use of electronic gadgets among learners has had a
positive influence on pupils’ learning in terms of
thinking skills, social, and academic skills and it is
important for educators to embrace and encourage the
use of electronic gadgets in the classroom in order to
maximize pupils’ learning potential.
RECOMMENDATION 3 Schools provide electronic devices to their students
because it gives significant to students’ academics and
to ensure that they are able to stay on top of their
studies while learning from home.
