BUSINESS OBJECTIVE
To create a different cricketing experience for the knowledgeable cricket fans of RGNUL. Talent Development To measure the marketability of cricket in RGNUL. A revenue earning mechanism for sports committee, which can used for the development of sports in RGNUL.
MAIN FEATURES
Introduction of Team Ownership & Building Team Fidelity Launching of Icon Player concept Point Slabs for players. Possibility of advertisement - Team Jerseys, Naming after a Sponsor (Like Dominos Dragons or Gopal Goons etc.)
FRANCHISE BIDDING
Closed-Room-Secret Ballot Bidding Process starting from a base price. The maximum bidder will get the first preference over the choice of Icon Players. Franchise Teams limited to six teams.
ICON PLAYERS
PLAYER BIDDING
Icon players would be chosen according to investment made in the franchise bidding. Other players would be bidden according to the merit list. The merit list would be made assigning points to player performance in RCL 2011. With every fixed sum of investment, auction points can be gained by the owners. E.g. Rs. 100 = 30 points. A player should make himself available for a minimum of three matches.
SQUAD RULES
Minimum squad strength of 10 players. No more than 3 players of the same batch should be in the playing eleven.
POINT SLABS
Bowling Points Top 5 Wicket Takers/Economical Figures: 30 points 5-10 : 20 points 10-15: 10 points 15-25: 5 points
Batting Points Top 5 Run-Getters (Same as the Bowling List) / Strike Rate (Minimum Aggregate Score of 25) 100-125: 30 points 125-75: 20 points 75-50: 10 points 50-25: 5 points
MATCH SCHEDULE
A group stage with two groups of three, playing each other. Top teams of each group getting direct qualification to the semi-finals and last two getting a play-off against the other group. So a team playing a total of five matches to reach the finals. So ten matches in the entire tournament spread over one week with two games per day.
