    Russia is the most extensive country in the world. Its surface is about 17.075.400 km2.

    It occupies all the north of Asia and about 40% of Europe.


    Russia is limited by Artic ocean, north Pacific ocean, and by interior seas like Baltic sea, Black sea and Caspian sea.

    G EOGRAFY

    Because its big extension, exist a lot of varieties of landscapes and climates in Russia. Principal rivers: Volga, Ob, Yenisi, Angara i Lena. Main lakes: Baikal lake, Ladoga lake and Onega lake. Relief: Ural Mountains, Carpats... Ural Mountains, at central part, are the principal division between Europe and Asia.

    The capital of Russia is Moscow.

    Saint Petersburg and Novosibirsk are also important cities of Russia.

    With a population of 142.000.000 of habitants, Russia is the sixth country most filled in the world.

    There are 160 ethnic groups in Russia which speak in approximately 100 different languages. The official language is Russian.
