The vogue title is very different to other magazine names as it s not big and bold but it still stands

out. It s simple elegant slim classic just like the aspiring costumer buying it. The price is very small is included here it s printed very small, which suggest this isn t the cheapest magazine, this is a high class magazine, and is only made once a month. Sales of vogue have only gone down 0.1% as it s a lifestyle magazine , woman want to have vogue as it shows who you are as a person if you are seen with vogue, people assume you are of a higher class with greater interests.
The front cover is a big picture of Adele s face, she s a very well known, popular likeable singer. The close up shows he perfect air brushed skin, with perfect hair and makeup, something every woman wants. Natural beauty.

Vogue is a very well known magazine everyone sees the font and knows what the magazine is. The Font is simple and classy. The name is always written in the same font at the same size at the top of the page.

Vogue always uses 2 or 3 colours on the front cover this is so the magazine doesn t look to messy and cheap like a magazine such as pick me up. THE ENGLISH WOMAN NOW most readers of vogue are proud to be English, the higher class English woman makes you immediately think of classy woman who have worked to be where there are today and not just marry a rich man, by having inspirational English women in vogue will inspire English women. Amy Childs could be argued that she is the woman of the moment, she s not what you d typically see on the cover of vogue as she s a reality TV star and could be argued is a bit dim, by having her name on the front cover it broadens the target audience.

The smaller writing along the sides in in different font and sizes and all still in white, this shows it s still classy by having all the fonts in white, but by having the writing in different fonts still catches the eye.
Adoring Adele is in the same colour as the Vogue name, suggesting that Adele is the main focus of the magazine, it s also in a larger font which brings it to our eye. The Adoring Adele is obviously alliteration also to help sell the magazine

The photo of Adele is a close up of her face, a generic convention of a high class fashion/beauty magazine, as it focuses on Adele s natural beauty.

Vogue history.
Vogue was first launched in the states in 1892; the first issue of vogue that came out in England was in 1916 when the war made it impossible to bring in copies from the US, and has been published ever since, the first editor Elspeth Champcommunal effectively made the magazine the same as the American version from except from the spelling, when second editor came along Dorothy Todd she made the magazine a higher standard shifting the focus from fashion to literature this was when it lost a lot of it s audience, when third editor came on the scene Alison Settle this was when the magazine really took off and became much more popular with a mixture of literature and fashion, 7 editors later and vogue is selling Sales of vogue have only gone down 0.1%, which is very surprising as other magazine sales have plummeted, as everyone can get the information they need of the internet you could argue that vogue sales haven t gone down very much because it is a higher class magazine and you don t get just gossip you get a high classed well written story, guaranteed.

The English Women; in the top corner this is relevant throughout the whole magazine.

The picture is plain and simple of Adele is elegant and classy, typical vogue picture focusing on her beauty and her amazing features.

The background is very dark and so is Adele's clothing this makes you focus on Adele; her faces and features, brought into focus by the light hitting her face and the red is in half shadow.

Adele is typically English, the way she talks the way she looks, very little people don t like Adele, she hasn t let her popularity get to her head.

The text; of a higher literacy level, there's a lot of writing compared to hello, the vocabulary uses is of a much higher standard , using metaphors, similes and a lot of details to the writing on she half totters, half runs, in a sparkly black, her ginger-biscuit cut hair pinned back in Beyonc-style ringlets.

The background is dark and blue, contrasts completely to a magazine such as hello or ok, which uses colours like red, using blue and This photo of Adele makes you being very dark immediately look at her eyes, makes it very although she is a big girl she is classy. stunning something any English woman to admire.(linking to the English woman

The font is small, classic and sophisticated in Times New Roman The writing if of a much higher literacy level compared to a magazine such as hello, using words and sentences like, frenzied hysteria, the shrieking mutates into an obedient sing along, subliminally The layout of the writing is very classic/ formal, more traditional with some sentences set back in the line,

The whole double page spread is in black and white this very simple classy but also makes us look at Amy Childs in a different way, she s usually colourful bright very rarely seen in black and white. Amy Childs appeals to two audiences, the only way is Essex people who watch it for real (aspiring to be her) and people who watch it in an ironic say (almost mocking it). You could argue that vogue has followed the crowd getting a wider audience with doing piece on Amy Childs, but the article is very different there s no gossip simply the story of a day in the life of Amy Childs a very well written typical vogue article.

The English Woman is the feature throughout this magazine also featured at the top of Adele's article, Amy Childs is the woman of the moment. simply title The Essex girl: Amy Childs, alliteration in the subtitle, Titan haired sex bomb, this sauciest of stereotypes.

Typical vogue article using sophisticated vocabulary; equilibrium, interchangeable, creosoted reincarnation, nonspecific,

Isn t a normal picture of Amy, she's looking away, Isn t wearing a lot of make up Wearing casual clothes Hairs still pretty but not dolled up Pictures in black and white, more sophisticated, unlike her usual pictures where she s orange, and very done up (Essex girl)

This article is written by a man, Giles Coren his style of article is very different he doesn t talk about any gossip none whatsoever, but he talks about the reality of like comparing an Essex girl to a princess talking about what men really want, his style of writing is very sexual but not pornographic, the writing is still detailed like a vogue article, but with a twist so it appeals for other audiences.

The title of the show she s in is the only way is Essex - this top says made is Essex, a copy of a similar show called made in Chelsea this show is much higher class than the only way is Essex as Chelsea is higher class, the people in made in Chelsea are more likely to read vogue, this is an ironic twist on getting more readers.

Elle history.
Elle is a French magazine founded by Pierre Lazareff and his wife Hlne Gordon in 1945. The Elle Title is similar to vogue but still is very different to other magazine names as it s not big and bold but it still stands out. It s simple elegant slim classic just like the aspiring costumer buying it. Elle and Vogue covers are very similar they are both high fashion magazines, the Vogue cover I chose is a close up of Adele s face conventional also high fashion, this photo of Ayness Deyn is a high fashion photo, she s looking straight at the camera capturing the audience but her pose and look is different, quirky very high fashion. All of the writing on the front cover is either white or black, it s in only a few different fonts but as it s all the same colour it still makes it look simple and classy The background is very simple and elegant all in one colour with slight different tones, this makes you focus on the foreground as the model is wearing all black

The price is very small is included here it s printed very small, which suggest this isn t the cheapest magazine, this is a high class magazine, and is only made once a month. Sales of Elle haven t decreased very much at all this is because also like vogue Elle is a lifestyle magazine, if seen with this magazine it says something about you as a person

The model on the front cover is Agyness Deyn, she an extremely well know model and actress who has done shoots for Burberry, Armani, Vivienne Westwood and more, these are all high class designers like such clothes that the target audience may buy also making her look familiar to the buy making the magazine seem more appealing.
The title Elle is French, Elle is French for She, there slogan I s"Si elle lit elle lit Elle meaning, If she reads, she reads Elle French is stereotypically considered of a higher class to be simple, sexy, elegant and sophisticated. Elle having their name in French makes you think of all these things.

The cover is still using techniques that a lower class magazine would use to sell the magazine, like FREE HAIRCUT SPECIAL ISSUE
