What is Incredible India or Atulya Bharat ? Ministry of Tourism, government of India advices use of only authorized and approved tour guides and tour operators for a pleasurable and trouble free holiday in India. All approved tour guides are required to carry a photo identity issued by the ministry of Tourism and Archaeological survey of India & are required to present it on request.

Indias Climate & Nature:Hot tropical weather with variations from region to region. Coolest weather lasts from December to February, with cool, fresh mornings and evening and dry, sunny days. Really hot weather, when it is dry, dusty and unpleasant, is between march & may. Monsoon rains occur in most regions in summer between June and September.

Indias culture, tradition & religion:Few countries in the world have such an accident and diverse culture as Indias. Stretching back in an unbroken sweep over 5000 years, Indias culture has been enriched by successive waves of migration which were absorbed into the Indian way of life. It is this variety which is a special hallmark of India. Its physical, religious and racial variety is as immense as its linguistic diversity. Underneath this diversity lies the continuity of Indian civilization and social structure from the very earliest times until the present day. Arts, Indian Clothing, Indian Cuisine, Indian Dance, Indian languages.

Others: Kerala, Karnataka, Darjeeling, Mysore, Kanyakumari, Mumbai, Shimla, Varanasi , Jaipur, Udaipur, Mussoorie, AjantaElora, Kashmir, Lakshadweep, Manali, Leh & Ladakh, Pushkar, Mandav, Thiruvanthpuram, Panchmadi, Goa, Gangtok, Jodhpur, Pondicherry etc.

Incredible India campaign launched in 2002 was a major initiative by the government of india to promote india as tourist destination the first marketing initiative of its kind incredible india was conceptualized in 2002 by V. Sunil and Amitabh Kant, joint secretary, ministry of tourism. The campaign in 2002-03 in the second year the Incredible India campaign focused on Spiritual Tourist resulting in 28.8% increase a tourist &a no. 1 ranking in the travel + leisure readers survey.

In 2003-04 lonely planet a survey of 134 countries select the worlds favourite destination for individual travellers, India was ranked the top five favourite international destination in the global survey and resulting to win many prestigious Awards including GOLD at PATA & THE Bombay add club. 16% increase in tourist traffic in the first year, India emerged as the fastest growing market in the Asiapacific in terms of international tourist the data revealed the that international tourists spent us $ 372 million in India in the 4th quarter (oct-dec) of 2005, i.e. 25% more that the 4th quarter of 2004. And this process have continuing at present Tourism increases and affects economy of India.

Indian Culture and its ten thousand year old history is a massively powerful brand on which tourism industry can grow . Last year a total of 4.5 million tourists arrived India. It generated $4 billion revenue. It is low figure both in tourist arrivals and movies they spent while in India. Impact of tourism on Rural India will be so great that all other rural welfare scheme will be pale by comparism. Interestingly a bulk of cultural wealth is in rural areas. It is this what is significant percentage of visitors come to see, when they are there, they help the rural economy by staying in the local hotels, eat local foods and by local handicrafts.
