EVENT MANAGEMENT
 Event is some defined course to be undertaken where service has to be rendered to achieve the objectives set.  An event in its universal and literal form would be something that takes place or happens or something needs to be done to organize the same.  Event as occurrence designed to communicate particular messages to target audience Philip Kotler.

TYPES OF EVENTS
 Sporting,  Entertainment, Arts and Culture.  Commercial Marketing and Promotional Events,  Meeting and Exhibitions,  Festivals,  Family,  Fundraising,  Miscellaneous Events.

5 Gs of Events
 Product Mix : Success of any business mainly

depends on the variety of product; branding of product, packaging and after sales service rendered. Product design is very much an important factor in marketing management.  Price Mix : it is a vital elements of selling the event and this reflects value of services rendered. This builds an economic relationship with customers, competitors, investors, suppliers and overall society.  Place Mix : It is physical distribution mix and it creates place utility for the product. Venue selection while rendering the service is very important.

Promotion Mix : It comprises of sales territories distribution channels, sales promotion schemes like participation through exhibitions, advertising done through different medias. .People Mix : Organizing event is mainly a people oriented business as people constitute of vital part in rendering the service.

Pre-requisites for events


To conduct a successful event, a firm or a group has to prepare themselves with the pre-requisites for the event to be carried. These are the important aspects of any event. The pre-requisites for events are explained with the help of an example of event planning. The event planning of an Seminar is being related with the pre-requisites for the event. The pre-requisites for event are as follows: 1. Event Creation After doing research the, planning of event is done. This is done in order to carry the event with creativity and new approach.

2. Goal setting To make a progress on positive side, proper implication of goals and objectives are setup. The setting of goals is important for the creation/planning of events. Use of skill is very much needed to fulfill the goals.

3. Event Investigation A proper analysis of event characteristics is done to define the event correctively and clearly.

4. Event Mapping The basic data and knowledge regarding the event, collected first hand is placed on a paper in form of drawings or a plan. This helps in clearing the concepts of event to be carried.

5. Event Marketing After the plan of event is ready it is to be marketed. Awareness of the event is spread to get more attention of people and make the event a big success. Marketing is considered as a most important function of the event to make it big.

6. Uncertainty The changes of the internal and external situations will create some uncertainties. During the event process we organizers should be prepared and aware of such occurrences.

7. Risk management Uncertainties must be taken into consideration while planning an event. The risk management plan helps in giving us the clear idea of the risks during the activity process.

8. Evergreen Clauses The event needs promotion and this step contains the promotional activities to be carried out as an event organizer. Events are promoted with the help of various medias. They can be traditional or modern.

9. Event implication As a organizer we have to implement the different customer needs, the designing of event and planning of event after getting known with it. It should be done through setting the goals, deciding stipulated period of time, setting agenda and finally the rendering of the services.
