Using GarageBand

What is GarageBand?
GarageBand is a software used for creating music. We decided to use this particular software as opposed to other music creating software because as well as being an available feature on the apple Macs provided in school it is also easy to use.

The Music
For our trailer we needed three different pieces of music. As our film is dance comedy we required music that would connote a dance movie theme. So we decided to create a hip hop beat, music to create a dramatic opening to the trailer and swing music. By using the loop feature on GarageBand we were able to manipulate long and short pieces of music and sounds to form suitable soundtracks for our trailer.

Reasons behind our choice of music

Whilst researching other dance movie trailers it became apparent that it was common for this genre of film to include up to four different types of music.
