Introduction
Networking system provides for a multidrop system that reduces the number of interconnecting cables. Digital memory chip inside a traditional IEPE/ISOTRON type sensor ,referred to as a SMART ISOTRON. Information stored in the chip is unique to each sensor.

Specifications of the Transducer Bus

Maximum data baud rate = 5Mbps. Each data packet length = 48 bits Effective data throughput rate = 100,000 sps Number of channels = (data baud rate)/(sampling rate x datalength) Maximum number of channels that can be attached to each transducer bus = 255

For Example
If sampling rate = 500 sps Number of channels used up on the transducer bus = 200 If sampling rate = 10,000 sps Number of channels = 10

Conclusion
Difficulties associated with traditional measurement systems can be minimized by using mixed mode smart sensors, such as SMART ISOTRON accelerometers or by using NETWORK SENSORS. Benefits include : (a) simplify system setup (b) maintain configuration control (c) enhancing calibration d-base management Network Sensors will offer reduction in interconnecting cables.
