In January 1989, the University established Institute of Post Graduate Studies and Research with 10 Schools of Excellence each one dedicated to a particular discipline of technical education. The School of Management Studies is one such School. In tune with time when each of these schools grew in size and activity, in May 2003 it has been conferred functional autonomy with an independent Director for School of Management Studies.
