Concept
Man has an ability to form ideas or concepts because of his intellect knowledge by which differentiate him from the animals/beasts.
He can express the general meaning of something by means of a symbol like terms or words.
Our first concern is simple apprehension, the basic mental operation. It is a metal act by which we understand the general meaning or the essence of something.
CONCEPT
is a representation of an object by the intellect through which man comprehension a thing. It is also considered as a mental image of an object.
CLASSIFICATION OF CONCEPTS
Based on INTENTION Based on SUBJECT and FORM Based on SUBSTANCE and ACCIDENT Based on EXISTENCE and POSSESION:
Form
is what makes an object exist as it is. It is the perfection or the attribute of the subject. It is also called the essence/quiddity.
Subject
is what which has or is looked upon as having a perfection or attribute embodied in itself.
Examples:
Form: animality is the perfection that makes an animal a real animal. Beauty makes a thing beautiful Length expresses what it is that makes long object long Subject: Table has quiddity, I.e., tablesness White having whiteness
CONCRETE CONCEPT is a concept that expresses a Form and a Subject. Example: Holy man Beautiful woman Expensive room Glamorous wedding
ABSTRACT CONCEPT
is a concept which expresses form only. Example: kindness; holiness beauty
Accident
is what which cannot exist in itself but only as a perfection or modification need a subject . White, honest, beautiful are accidents since they need a subject in which to inhere.
ABSOLUTE CONCEPT
signifies the meaning of a complete substance endowed with its independent reality. An absolute concept is also called an abstract concept when it signifies to the mind something if the quality of an abstract noun.

CONNONATIVE CONCEPT
signifies the object as an accidents existing in the substance. It presents a form without the subject All modifiers are called connotative concepts: Wise; pretty; young; long; good; and the like Nouns considered to be incomplete substance or accidental modification are also classified as connotative concepts.
