HISTORY
The history of Foot Locker may be traced through that of Woolworth the company's founder, Frank Winfield Woolworth, who parlayed the idea of the five-and-ten cent store into an international retailing empire. Born in 1852, in Rodman, New York. 1879: Frank Woolworth opens his first "Great 5 Store" in Utica, New York. . 1912: The company moves into the Woolworth Building. 1926: Woolworth inaugurates its German operating subsidiary. 1960: Sales surpass the $1 billion mark. 1965: The company purchases G.R. Kinney Corporation. 1974: The Kinney shoe division opens the first Foot Locker stores. 1982: Kinney's Canadian operation starts Lady Foot Locker. 1999: Woolworth's changes its name to Venator Group. 2001: Renames itself Foot Locker Inc.

Foot Locker, has taken its first step into specialty retailing, by launching the countrys largest footwear store. The 18,000 square foot store, which opened last week in Mumbais Prabhadevi Area , it houses almost everything that an individual requires for his/her feet. Foot Locker commits to offer a unique shopping experience with over 100 national & international brands. The Store has been designed keeping in mind, better space and visibility for the products and free flow for shoppers
