 Wipro was established in 1980s as subsidiary of WIPRO limited listed on New York Stock Exchange. WIPRO was initially set up in 1945 with main product of producing sunflower Vanaspati Oil and different soaps. Wipro, IBM ink alliance

wipro and ibm on thursday inked a strategic alliance agreement to address the booming it market in india and the asia pacific region. ibm's asia pacific region president kakutaro kitashiro and wipro chairman azim premji signed the agreement and announced the alliance at a press conference here. As part of this alliance, wipro will market and integrate ibm's wide range of server and storage products in india including pseries (unix servers), xseries (intel-based servers), iseries and zseries.
