INTRODUCTION
The aim of technology is to make products in a large scale for cheaper prices and increased quality.

With Nanotechnologies we have made more things at a lower cost and greater precision than ever before .

CAPSULE CAMERA : Imagine a vitamin pill-sized camera that could travel through your body taking a picture, helping diagnose a problem which doctor previously would have found only through surgery.

Standard method of detecting abnormalities in the intestines is done through endoscopic examination by doctors.

DRAWBACKS OF ENDOSCOPY

We cannot scan all parts of our body through endoscope this can be overcomed by the pill camera .

WORKING
It is slightly larger than normal capsule. The patient swallows the capsule and the natural muscular waves of the digestive tract propel it forward It passes through stomach, into small intestine, through the large It intestine, and comes out through excreta. is capable of transmitting 50,000 color images during its It takes snaps as it glides through digestive tract twice a traversal second. through the digestive system of patient.

The complete traversal takes around eight hours . The parts which cannot be reached by endoscope can be detected by PILL CAMERA.

APPLICATIONS

Biggest impact in the medical industry. Nanorobots perform delicate surgeries.

Some of the diseases detected are: 1. Crohn's Disease. 2. Malabsorption Disorders. 3. Tumors of the small intestine & Vascular Disorders. 4. Ulcerative Colitis (diarrhea mixed with blood) 5. cancer

ADVANTAGES

Painless & no side effects Miniature size (26*11) High quality images Harmless material Simple procedure High sensitivity Avoids risk in sedation and radiation Efficient than X-ray, CT-scan, normal endoscopy

DISADVANTAGES
Presence of obstacle in intestine may stuck the capsule and cause problems. Gastrointestinal obstructions prevent the free flow of capsule. Very expensive. Not reusable.

These two drawbacks can be overcome using a bidirectional telemetry Camera.

CONCLUSION
Endoscopy Capsule is the pioneering concept in the medical technology. NANOTECHNOLOGY has the great impact on the near future . The near future will use the nanotechnologies in all the fields. Great help to the Physicians.

Future Improvement : Reduction in size. Cost effective. Longer Battery life.
