INTRODUCTION
Similarity-reading & writing comes together All three articles agree that reading & writing enhances ones language proficiency.
WRITING WITH A PEN IN HAND Historical overview. Those days, reading seemed more important than writing. Textbook publishers sold separate books for reading composition, spelling and writing Reading research dominated the learning process 1970s- researchers noticed the link between reading & writing. Comprehending & composing were viewed as process involved in text production.
Theory to practice Classroom activity should include writing to scaffold & support the teaching of comprehension strategies. Eg: a think-link chart A reading activity which require students to write and self monitor their understandings The teacher provides chunks of text to assist the students in comprehension

Learning to listen to music Georgia Heard (1997) suggests that poetry foundation of all writing Listen to the music of all words. Apply same rule in poetry- metaphor Able to apply same rhythm in theirs Getting started & reap new words Ask student to choose one sentence with deep meaning Share sentence in small group Discuss Fill in reflection paper
PROCESS INVOLVED 1. TRANSACTIONAL READING Reader & text Student reads with teacher & discusses Students will be divided in groups Various answers will develop in the group discussion
2. READING & WRITING CONNECTION -students were ready to begin a second letter -overjoyed-development-imaginations widen - Able to take risk- compose complex plot -involved personal thoughts despite many grammatical error
3. DEMOCRACY & TEXTUAL POWER -allows & helps students to take control of everything -produce students -to be writer & interpreter -students-authors
4. CRITIQUE SESION -after first draft is completed -fill up 2 critique sheets. Votes for best paper along with suggestions
5. EDITING THE FINAL DRAFT -Before publishing, students need to read aloud in front of class -help remove silly errors -read backwards-could see each words in isolation.
SUMMARY
In conclusion, reading improves ones language proficiency as well as developing good thinking skills. Thus, nomatter what u read, u have to reflect on it to improve on ones skills. READING WITHOUT REFLECTING IS LIKE EATING WITHOUT DIGESTING- EDMUND BURKE.
