• This interdisciplinary course
explores how the world responds to
disaster and trauma. Students will look
at both the basic working structure of
humanitarian assistance programs and
the theoretical, ethical and legal basis
for contemporary humanitarian
practice.

– Elluminate -- as an online virtual classroom for


students to meet, around the world.
– Survey Monkey -- as an assessment tool to
evaluate at the beginning of the class and the
end of the class.

Week 1: Assessment
& Students’ Learning Style
• The class will meet through the Synchronous
tool: Elluminates
• Content: Course syllable, the overall schedule,
the objective of the course, the reading list, the
assignments, the tools will be using during the
class and the grading rules.
• A pre-course assessment will be done at the
end of the class, to get an idea of each
student's learning style and preference of the
course content, the purpose of taking the
course and how well the students comprehend
the online tools for the further appropriate
instruction.

scale natural disaster
• The major issue in disaster mangagement
and humanitarian assistance
